In this small southern college town....this is a post card perfect afternoon. 70 degrees with sunny skies. Is ......spring .....finally here? Feels like it. March Madness.....is here. Great drama.....great theater .....great games.
I sure do like......those $3.99 car wash places. Atlanta drivers.....may not be the worst.....but they are the most daring.
I don't think.....I will have a garden ......this year. Just think....in a few weeks.....we will all have to crank up the old lawn mower...again.
I will miss......our family conference call this Sunday...have to work...how sad. My daughter, Madison, is teaching me how to ......text.
My body.....is really tired....it's the week-end......and .....I'm out!
And according to the calenders made available to us........there are 52 of these.....in a calender year. That means 52 "Hump Days". Wow!
In this southern college town, the temperature's rising........Summer..........looms. The "hazy, hot & humid" days........await us. As we crank up our AC's ........and fans.......and other cooling devices.........let's take a look at what's happening around us.......sports........and otherwise.
Magic vs. Lakers.......... Not what the networks wanted......(Kobe vs. LeBron was what ABC was hoping for).....but an intriguing match-up just the same. Disney Land vs. Disney World............A tale of two franchises.....L A, is in the finals for the 30th time.......the Magic? Only their 2nd. The Lakers will have Jack Nicholson (long time fan....and the "joker") sitting court side.......The Magic will have Orlando resident, and the best golfer of the planet, Tiger Woods.
Both are led by a player who came straight from high school to the pros........Kobe (Lakers) ........and that man child, from south Atlanta..........Superman himself........Dwight Howard.
The coaches? Phil Jackson has nine rings.........championship rings.......Stan Van Gundy? Weren't they gonna fire him last year?
Regular season meetings? Orlando took 'em both. They last met........61 games ago....
Make no mistake...........Orlando is the real deal..........and they present match up problems for most of the NBA...........
But............the Lakers' front line..........is too big.......too long........too much range.......and they have the x-factor........in that cold blooded.......game on the line ..........cut-throat shooter....in Kobe.
Lakers...........in 6.
A Williams-less.......French Open.......
We don't follow tennis.........except for the William sisters , Venus and Serena.........Well, both have been ousted in the on going French Open Tournament. Bad for tennis........but a lesson for both girls.
Yes.......we know you both want more out of life than tennis.....and you're both capable of "multi-tasking" ...........But........
Tennis...........is what made you famous.......
Tennis ..........is why .......you both have made a fortune....
Tennis..........put the Williams family on a path of greatness...........
So........a note..........and some advice to Serena.......and Venus ........How about getting back to some .......training?
Tennis training..........working on .......your game. Playing in more tournaments to learn more about your competitions' game.
It can only help..........For when it all boils down..............in the end.......with all your "fashion statements"...........Hollywood connections..........and sexy dress lines..........
You both..........are still ........two women..........playing a rich.....white.....sport.......of spoiled elitists............You gave us a reason ..........to watch.

My step-daughter, Sharmain........graduates from boot camp.....in the US Army tomorrow........at a fort in South Carolina.......I'm proud of you girl!
My garden? With the help of a little watering and fertilization .....it's doing well.
23rd birthday...........to my daughter.....Madison.....who turned.......the ripe age of 23 on Sunday. I took her out to dinner...........well it turned into lunch.......'cuz I had to work that night. We went to her favorite restaurant....."DePalma's"........strictly Italian........very good. No black folks on the wall......just very authentic....Italian......food.
And .....as long as she was happy..........I was happy. For this was ..........her birthday.....her moment........
So .........I ordered a meat ball sub.....(without cheese).....so ....."un-Italian"

We predict...........this "prick" .......will kill himself........commit suicide.......before surrendering..
The NFL Draft..........happened this past Saturday and Sunday..........Matthew Stafford.......has .....to quote "Terrell Owens"........$42 million reasons to live. A signing bonus for this UGA star.
The Atlanta Hawks............are toast.
The Cleveland Cavaliers .......are on a roll....To quote Moses Malone........"fo, fo.....and fo..." Cleveland swept the hapless Detroit Pistons in four games..........and are looking forward to doing the same to their next two opponents...........
I gave away a daughter.....and gained a son-in-law....
Yes........it has happened!
My daughter, Madison (Pictured with her groom) was married Saturday.......to the love of her life, Paris. I escorted her down the aisle........and keeping it .......all in the family, my father performed the ceremony.
I got to say, "I do", first. Answering the question, "Who gives this bride ....to Paris?"
No hesitation.....no stuttering ........Then I sat down and thought about my life......with my little girl.
That day she was born.......the first steps she took........and the first words she spoke.
I thought of her first day in school.....
I thought of our moves........from New Jersey to upstate New York.....to Georgia.....to New York ....and back to Georgia.
I thought of the times I would put her on an airplane to visit her mom.....
My "boopie".......
There was all the football and basketball games I attended.....just to be there.....for my little girl......cheer leading and jumping......and yelling.
I thought of her high school graduation......
I thought.....of our family cruise..........in which she was the only one who got sea sick. (Of course, she was also, the only who didn't drink alcohol).
And .........I thought.......I ..........am a lucky man.
She was..........and is........so beautiful.......and she was so happy....Saturday....
Which , of course, makes me happy.
And I thought........my little girl .....has grown up. And that's a good thing.
